Cattle ranch, auction house

The auction of a working Angus cattle farm and estate in eastern Tennessee, which was scheduled to begin Jan. 29, has been called off.

It is still listed by Alliance Sotheby’s International at $ 7.9 million, listing agent Sandy Poe confirmed Friday evening.

“Occasionally, following exposure prior to an unqualified auction, if market dynamics do not demonstrate that the auction will result in a fair and market-determined price, then the seller may choose to withdraw ownership of the auction before the auction begins, “wrote a public relations representative in an email Friday night.

Seven Lakes Ranch, located in Hamilton County, is a sprawling 412-acre property that includes a country estate, log guesthouse, barn with gatehouse, horseback riding facilities, and seven spring-fed lakes.

The property had been on the market for about 18 months, listed at $ 7.9 million. The ranch was to be auctioned with a reserve of $ 3.5 million.

The property could serve a variety of uses, from a bed and breakfast to a corporate retreat to a hunting lodge.

“There is so much to do. It can be presented as a single residential farm for a large family, or, with all the acreage … you could make it a development “, Sotheby’s International Realty said listing agent Sandy Poe. “It has potential for investors.
