41-year-old Valencian livestock foreman dies from injuries sustained after being gored by a bull
An incident in the bullring of the Valencian municipality of Castellon this Friday, March 25, resulted in the death of a 41-year-old man from injuries he received after being gored by a bull.
The incident happened during the popular ‘La Liga del Corro’ on Friday night, which eventually had to be suspended due to the heavy rains that broke out. Ramon was performing the bullfighting section and a bull went loose, charging at him and goring his femoral artery.
The emergency services immediately transferred the foreman to the Picassent health center, but he died this morning, Saturday 26, morning in a Valencian hospital.
Jose Vicente Machancoses said The Opinion of Murcia of his friendship with the deceased, whom he met for the first time during a bullfight in the town of Alcasser. “He was like my brother,” he said. “Ramon was very fond of bullfighting, a real lover, and he was very fond of animals. He was particularly fond of bulls and horses.
“It’s very sad, but you have to accept the news, these are things that unfortunately happen in the world of bullfighting,” added Mr. Machancoses with emotion. His estate is renowned for its three hectares of breeding. He runs the cattle farm with his brother Dani, who is also president of the Bous al Carrer Breeders’ Association of the Valencian Community.
